As a founder and managing partner of James & Partners Law Offices, Mr.Nakrit Sawettanan is an international solicitor/ lawyer with more than 27 years of experience in both Thailand and U.S. in corporate, commercial, joint ventures, purchases and sales of assets and shares, arbitration and litigation. In UK terms he is both a “solicitor” and a “barrister” and is a renowned advocate in the Civil Courts of Thailand. He has achieved outstanding results for domestic and international clients in complex l itigation and arbitration cases requiring English language skills. In the commercial field under the name of his firm he worked together with a British-American law firm in securitization deals and in reviewing various type of draft commercial agreements. He also had experience working jointly with an American firm in Chicago in relation to a sale of securities of a U.S. Investment Fund. Previously he advised a law firm in New York on multiple jurisdiction claims and another law firm in Singapore on the matter of business laws of Thailand. In project finance matters he represented more than ten Thai lender banks, also liaising with another London law firm on behalf of foreign banks and investors. He had also represented foreign advisors in Thailand such as in the project of the newest and biggest International Airport which was Flughafen Munchen GMBH, a state enterprise of Germany that operated Munich Airport. Mr.Nakrit had provided significant legal advice and opinion to various Thai Government Ministries, civil servants and judges and acted as legal counsel to Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the biggest waste water management project that worth more than Baht 23 Billion. In relation to maritime law cases he represented multinational companies such as the Greece vessel owner company that transported oil to and from Thailand. The co-ordination and supervision was also made from another client which is a reputable P&I Club in London. In summary Mr.Nakrit had in Thailand substantial experience in dealing and coordinating among clients, customers and other leading international law firms in several multi national financing, large scale of securitization portfolio, high profile commercial transactions, several reputable arbitration and litigation cases.

Mr.Nakrit received his LL.B. (Honors) in 1982 ranking in the top of his class at the faculty of law, Thammasat University in Thailand. In 1989 he graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) with an LL.M. His legal career includes over twenty seven years experience in the areas of corporate, commercial and business law, litigation, including a four year stint with a law firm in the United States. In term of Thai Governmental positions, Mr.Nakrit had experiences in acting as advisor to Minister of Transportation and advisor to Minister of Agricultural and Co-operative Affairs of Thailand. At present Mr.Nakrit is an Ordinary Member of Thai Bar Association (Legal Education Institution); Member of Law Society of Thailand; Member of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Member of Business Network International (BNI). He has appeared in the press and lawyer magazine as a role model for young lawyers.
